Artists.com Launches Website to Showcase Local Artists
IdeasSiero is pleased to announce the official
launch of Artists.com on December 19. The owner, Marcelo Siero, expressed
his excitement: “I am fulfilling a dream of mine to provide an
artist friendly venue to market the work of local artists with the launch
of Artists.com.” Artists.com produces and ships high quality,
affordable, fine art reproductions. Visitors to the site can purchase
their favorite artist’s work in a variety of formats and the sizes
they need. The art is then printed on demand using a state-of-the-art
giclee printer and packed and shipped to any destination in the world.
The mission of Artists.com is to use
technology and creative marketing approaches to help artists gain recognition
for their work. By making the most of the scope and power of the Internet,
we afford artists worldwide exposure and more freedom to be creative
and do what they love best. Through www.artists.com, art lovers have
easy access to a wealth of artistic creativity they may not otherwise
experience.
In cooperation with two other IdeasSiero businesses,
Business With Pleasure (BWP) and Sign City, Artists.com will capture
artwork using a high resolution digital camera. The Kodak SLR/c which captures
a 14 Megapixel image in RAW mode with greate color fidelity. Alternatively,
artists can bring film containing images of their work and it can be
digitized using the Nikon Super Coolscan 8000 ED. Samplings of these
high resolution images are then posted on the website along with presentations
of the artists’ portfolios, written interviews, and photos of
the artists.
The approach of Artists.com is to focus on the
culture and art of various regions around the world and in an artist
friendly format. The first region to be targeted is Santa Cruz County,
a region known the world over for its abundance of interesting and eclectic
artists. In the future, Artists.com plans to show art from countries
around the world – one region at a time.
“Simultaneously with the launching of our
website, we were involved with another exciting venture for Santa Cruz
County artists!” stated Siero. “Councilmember Emily Reilly
envisioned opening a not-for-profit gallery for local artists for quite
some time.Artists.com collaborated with the Cultural
Council to make her vision a reality. That project has been facilitated
by the City of Santa Cruz Redevelopment Agency
