George was born and raised in the beautiful beach town of Santa Cruz California. His deep family roots date back five generations in Santa Cruz and his paintings reflect the history and soul of this special place. Each painting is a special memory of all the places where he and his friends would go surfing, fishing, swimming, or just playing at the beach. The color and character of each painting reflects the very soul of the Santa Cruz landscape and seascape. The mediums used in his paintings are watercolor, and acrylic. Some are sketched and painted on location, and then completed in detail at his studio. George started drawing and painting at the young age of five and was guided by local artists. One of the local artists, who noticed the talented young boy, would have him paint at his shows inside the old Cooper House in downtown Santa Cruz. The crowds were huge and people were fascinated by his talent. Today at the age of 34 years old George can be seen painting the landscapes and seascapes of the entire Pacific Northwest.
